& Activities Guide

Purpose

The purpose of the Fundraiser & Major Activity Guide is to capture useful information about how the Council has conducted various activities and events. The information should retain for the Council how these activities have been planned and conducted, so that new Chairmen and participants can be aided for similar future activities.

Background

The Council conducts many activities of sufficient complexity that it can be difficult for new Chairs and members to easily participate. By capturing and documenting key planning and operational details, the Council can provide useful guidance to future members engaged in these activities.

Implementation

The Grand Knight may appoint a “keeper” of this Guide, meaning that the appointed member should ensure that a current copy of the Guide is available at all Council meetings and should communicate with the Webmaster to ensure that the current version is also available on the Council website.

Since the content of this guide is defined as informational and does not set Council Policy, the individual guides do not require Council approval. Any member of the Council may suggest that an activity be included in this Guidance document. However, he should first seek to obtain the agreement of a previous participant in that activity, unless he himself has been active in it. All suggestions for inclusion in this Guide will refer to the Grand Knight, who should seek input from the Trustees on the advisability of inclusion in this document.

Normally, the author of the Guidance document for an activity will be a past Chairman or involved member of that activity. However, the Grand Knight may appoint anyone to author a guidance document. New or revised documents should be presented to the Officers for input prior to its inclusion in the Guide.
