Knight Stories (Assembly 3198) – 2021

Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Exemplification at St Gregory the Great

On February 20, 2021 approximately 100 Knights and their guests gathered at St Gregory the Great Church and Parish Life Center for the first 4th Degree Exemplification to be held in the Low Country in the past 8 years. The day started with Mass. Our Pastor Monsignor Cellini, a 4th Degree Knight, was the Principal Celebrant and Homilist. The Mass was also concelebrated by Fr. Pedro Gomez who became a 4th Degree Knight later in the day. Both were ably assisted by Deacon John Crapanzano, a 4th Degree Knight. The principle of the 4th Degree is Patriotism and St Gregory the Great Music Director Dr Pam Kane developed a Mass music program with a strong Patriotic theme. She was assisted by Cantor Linda Burkett.

Following Mass, we adjourned to the Parish Life Center for the Exemplification Ceremony. Knights of Columbus dignitaries in attendance included the Vice Supreme Master, South Carolina District Master, South Carolina State Deputy, and the Georgia District Master. In total 50 3rd Degree Knights became 4th Degree Knights during the Ceremony. Almost all of those new 4th Degree Knights were members of Low Country Councils 5026, 7289, 10668, and 12263. We welcome the 20 new Sir Knights from our Parish who are now members of Assembly 3198. Many of them are pictured in the group photo.
