Guide F-04, NFL Monday Night Game Raffle
Summary & Scope
The Council has implemented a fundraiser activity associate with the National Football League’s Monday Night Football Games (NFL MNF). Being that this is a raffle, the State of South Carolina requires that the Council submit an application on an annual basis for authorization. NFL MNF raffle books will be available for sale only after the Financial Secertary receives the authorization from the SC Secertary of State. Additionally, an end of year report is also required to be submitted to the Secertary of State. This project requires a chairman and volunteers to help with the sale of the raffle books from June through September.
Planning/Timeline
NFL MNF Raffle Books program planning and implementation timeline starts in early April/May and ends in December with the last Monday Night Game. Major activities include but not limited to:
- April:
- Council Officers decision on holding an NFL MNF raffle as a fundraising activity
- Program Chairman identified by the Council Officers
- Chairman and Council Officers decision on target audience (Council members, family, neighbors and other Councils in District 1) to sell raffle books to
- Council Financial Secretary submits application to the SC Secertary of State
- May:
- Financial Secretary receives authorization from State approving the Raffle
- Council Offices decision on number of books to print and finalize target audience
- NFL Monday Night Schedule published
- Develop Raffle game matrix
- Committee proof read (another set of eyes) game matrix
- Game matrix and raffle books finalized
- Chairman releases raffle books to printer
- June:
- Chairman solicits volunteers to help sell Raffle Book
- Create e-Mail distribution list (all players)
- June to August:
- Committee and volunteers sell the raffle books all monies transmitted to the Chairman with sales receipt (Players’ name and contract information)
- Chairman (or designee) creates, updates and maintains Xcell data base (optional for data tracking)
- Chairman updates Officers on total books sold (total sales $$) and potential net profit
- September:
- Chairman transmit Sales $$$ to Financial Secretary
- September to December:
- 1st NFL MNF Game
- Chairman (or designee) issue bcc email notifications to all players (e-mail list)
- Chairman (or designee) emails names of winner to Financial Secretary, Treasurer, and GK,
- Council issues $50 check to each winner
- Chairman updates Officers and Members on potential net profit
- December:
- Financial Secretary provides final statement of expenses, sales and net profit to the Council
- Post December (TBD)
- Financial Secretary provide report to Secretary of State

Resources Needed
- The Chairman will need assistance (volunteers) to help sell the NFL MNF raffle books from June to September.
- Raffle books may be sold after the 1st NFL MNF game.
- All sales revenue will be transmitted to the Chairman.
- Chairman will transmit all monies to the Financial Secretary.
Operational Activities
Deciding how much to order – Records have been kept for recent years regarding how many NFL MNF raffle books have been printed and sold.
- 2022: 100 raffle books printed – 51 sold
- 2023: 100 raffle books printed – 51 sold
- 2024: 200 raffle books printed – 154 sold
A EXCEL file from the previous year is available and may obtain from the past Chairman, Sam Corona. The electronic file contains contact information data regarding purchasers’ name number of books purchased and contact information.
